Steve Aoki, Datsik, Mustard Pimp, and Team Bayside High at Orpheum Theatre

After founding the influential indie label Dim Mak Records and fronting the militant hardcore band This Machine Kills, Steve Aoki turned to turntablism under the name DJ Kid Millionaire, which is fairly appropriate given that his dad founded the Benihana restaurant chain. Since then, the jet-setter has done a DJ tour with Danny Masterson of That ’70s Show fame and released his debut mix CD, Pillowface And His Airplane Chronicles, in 2008. Listen for material from his debut original LP, Wonderland, which dropped in January and features collaborations with Travis Barker, will.i.am, and LMFAO. DJ and producer Datsik, a relative latecomer to a still-young genre, admirably provides much bass for the faces of his fans. The British Columbia-based DJ has amassed an impressive list of remixes, EPs, and other releases since starting out in 2008, citing early Wu-Tang Clan as a major influence on his style.
