StageQ

  • The Stops
  • The Stops

Bartell Theatre

113 E. Mifflin St.
Madison WI 53703
608-294-0740
all ages $10-$15
  • Fri Nov 20 8 pm,
    The Stops at Bartell Theatre

StageQ begins its 2009-10 season with a campy musical in which three female church organists—a Nazarene, a Southern Baptist, and a Jewish Unitarian (who all happen to be men in drag)—go on tour to save one of their favorite composers, who’s recently been outed as gay. Ginny, Euglena, and Rose are all members of NALOG (North American Lady Organists Guild), and form the musical group The Stops to spread their message of tolerance across the country. They land in Madison for a concert, and overcome their differences by uniting in common purpose, as well as by belting out semi-churchy non-standards like “It’s Raining Amen,” “A Bossa Nova For Jehovah,” and “Hallelujah Aloha.”
