Terrace Blues Fest 2009 at Memorial Union Terrace
The Terrace's annual day of free blues gets an unusual and prestigious Chicago boost in the form of Barrelhouse Chuck, a pianist who fine-tuned his rollicking boogie-woogie style of play under the likes of influential blues piano stylists like Pinetop Perkins. Beyond that, it's almost all Wisconsin acts, from Chicago-styled Milwaukee four-piece Perry Weber And The DeVilles to the more raw approach of Madison Strat-blaster Paul Filipowicz to local pianist-singer John Chimes. Madisonians Boo Bradley take a break from busking with their fun acoustic blues and washboard to chip in as well.
