Wife and Roboman at Mickey's Tavern
Calling on the mystical influence of hell, fire, and punk, the Madison metal masters of Wife uncork a vicious style of mayhem, drawing on influences like Iron Maiden to create what they call “the ultimate townie-rock band.” Blistering jams like “Anchor” and “Evil Sorceress” turn heads out in a live setting with ease, but the band has only laid them down on a live tape recorded at The Wisco up to this point. Wife is currently at work on an album, but suffered a minor setback when it had to let its engineer go for not knowing what Ride The Lightning was. If the band’s willingness to can its engineer for not being familiar with the Metallica classic isn’t reason enough to be excited about this album, than nothing is.
