Willie Nelson And Family
-
Tue Mar 16
7:30 pm
Willie Nelson And Family at Overture Center for the Arts - Overture Hall
Willie Nelson's history boasts all the easy navigability of an iceberg. The 76-year-old's voice and underhanded way of smoothing country, jazz, and pop together make 2009's American Classic an unmistakable, if not landmark Nelson album. But grasping that inevitably means plunging further and further back to his first break in '60s Nashville, or at least to the '70s albums (Red Headed Stranger, Shotgun Willie, etc.) that made him huge. Nelson continues to record and perform tirelessly, and with the passing of Johnny Cash, he stands as an ambassador of the American songwriting tradition that he helped innovate.
