The Wolf Knife at UW Union South- Gallery 1308
The Variety review of Laurel Nakadate’s 2010 film, The Wolf Knife, mentioned that many people walked out at the 15-minute mark and that it was surprising that even more didn’t hightail it out of there 45 minutes later. That seems to be a common thread with much of the press surrounding the work: that it’s an extremely challenging film and that it generally makes viewers feel creepy and voyeuristic. The picture focuses mainly on the relationship of two young girls living in Florida and the darkness they encounter when they decide to road-trip it to Tennessee.
