In the restaurant business, the word “fusion” is usually little more than code for “trendy and pretentious pseudo-ethnic food.” And while Bunky’s menu is a somewhat strange pairing of traditional Mediterranean and Italian dishes, the firm delineation between the two cuisines—and the restaurant’s kitschy decor—clear away any whiff of ostentation.
