After breaking many an artsy caffeine addict's heart upon closing this past winter, Café Zoma is back, now under the same ownership as Espresso Royale Café. While the popular outdoor space and laid-back atmosphere are intact, the coffee and tea are now Espresso Royale's. The selection is well suited to the back-to-nature, organic attitude of the near-East Side. Twenty-four loose teas are lined up on the counter for your choosing, and are hand-bagged for brewing. Espresso Royale's coffee and espresso also come in specialty drinks like the sweet carmilla (caramel and vanilla) latte. Though the café plans to serve fresh soups and salads in the near future, the basic coffee-shop staples--pastries, ready-made sandwiches, and yogurt--are available at the front counter.
