Perhaps in a nod to the nation’s many fine combination Taco Bell and Pizza Huts, Brewers slugger Ryan Braun and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers are combining their powers and opening a restaurant in Brookfield. According to the Journal Sentinel, the two MVPs have signed a licensing agreement with SURG restaurant group—the same organization behind Ryan Braun’s Graffito—and plan to open their joint venture in June. Oh, and it’s going to be called 8*twelve MVP Bar & Grill, which is a terrible, terrible idea.
The name, of course, refers to Braun and Rodgers’ respective jersey numbers. The stunningly ill-considered asterisk, however, brings to mind Braun’s recent PED controversy, an issue that many fans—and, you know, Braun himself—are trying their damndest to forget. Why Braun, Rodgers, and SURG are going ahead with the name is anyone’s guess, but at least it’s not as bad as any on the following list:
Donald Driver: Cooking With The Stars
Bob Uecker: Combination Fuddruckers/Usinger’s Sausage-A-Porium
Nyjer Morgan: Club .169
Craig Counsell: There Must Be Some Kind Of Buffet Out Of Here
Brett Favre: Brett Favre’s Tex-Mex Sexting Saloon
