Aerosmith is nothing if not trendy. Staying in line with that, the band is launching its Global Warming tour, because that’s a thing that’s happening right now. The tour kicks off in Minneapolis on June 16, and is scheduled to make stops at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and the Quebec City Summer Fest, both things that occur in the summer, when it is typically warm, which is perhaps the actual reason for the name of this tour. And, really, what else brings to mind global warming quite like the Bad Boys From Boston, who heat up the stage with their elaborate display of post-midlife sexulity and steamy power ballads? The earth is on fire, and Aerosmith is perhaps responsible. The band is working on its first album since 2004’s Honkin’ On Bobo, and will play classics as well as new material. And, according to American Idol judge and band frontman Steven Tyler, “The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with yur mothers.” So, do protect your mother.
