Here we are not even three full weeks in 2009, and people are already declaring Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion the album of the year. The crazy thing is that those people might be right—Merriweather is just the right mix of gooey pop melodies and grating noise, and it ought to sound great when Animal Collective comes May 19 to Turner Hall. The show was announced this morning, and it's sure to be a hot ticket when it goes on sale at noon Friday at the Pabst and Riverside offices. Tickets are $20, and all ages are welcome.
