Autobiography: We Are Your Father
Decider lets the Milwaukee experimental band speak for themselves
Sometimes a band sums itself up so well on its MySpace page that Decider can’t help but step back and let the artists speak for themselves. So, in advance of Saturday’s show at Stonefly, here is Milwaukee experimental instrumental group We Are Your Father, in the band’s own words:
“We know that YOU are special, a perfectly unique snowflake. That’s why we play just for you and we never play the same thing twice. We are dedicated to letting you know that new shit has come to light. A free-form jazz excursion with funk overtones, some may say. A funk fest with a rock foundation and too much distortion, according to the lady that calls the cops on us for having too much fun. We want to play. It’s the catnip.”
Got that? In case We Are Your Father's self-description wasn't absolutely crystal clear, be sure to go to the MySpace page and check out the atmospheric instrumental, "Hitchcock Car Chase."
