A.V. Club's surprisingly specific Valentine’s Day guide: High maintenance dates
Three ideas for that hard-to-please person in your life
Flowers, chocolates, dinner, and a movie: It’s a generic Valentine’s Day lineup that might work for most people, but it won’t rev the engines of those with choosier tastes. So, instead of risking failure with your spouse, significant other, or online dating hook-up, Decider is sharing some surprisingly specific Valentine’s Day date ideas this week. Today, we help you out with high maintenance dates.
Lake Park Bistro is widely known as one of the fanciest restaurants in Milwaukee. It’s certainly one of the priciest, and among the most popular—especially on Valentine’s Day. If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, congratulations: You’re totally getting laid. But if you’re the procrastinating yin to your high-maintenance honey’s yang, then forget about Lake Park Bistro and go someplace equally elegant but less obvious, like Carnevor. This sleek little steakhouse is quickly gaining a reputation for the best steaks in town, and it also boasts one of the largest wine lists, with nearly 350 different bottles. Choose an early evening reservation, then follow the meal with a classy performance by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. MSO’s latest concert, A Treasure And A Discovery, is playing at 8 p.m. that night at the Marcus Center.
