Blog: What are your top 10 records of 2008?

Decider hopes our list of favorite albums conveys how cool we are

Sun Kil Moon

Making a list of your favorite music is not a pastime for the faint of heart, especially if you plan on making the list public. It’s basically an invitation for every random dude cruising the Internet to accuse you of (1) being an elitist hipster douchebag who’s showing off by picking a bunch of bands nobody has heard of, or (2) being an ill-informed hipster douchebag who’s selection of bands is laughably obvious. You usually hear both kinds of comments about the same list.

No matter. My favorite part about the end of the year is reading and writing best-of lists. It’s a great excuse to talk about all the cool stuff you got the chance to discover and enjoy in the past 12 months. So, in the spirit of discovery, I asked some Milwaukee media bigshots and fat cats to share their choices for the best music of 2008 alongside my picks. Share your own favorites in our comments section and call us out on any questionable choices.
