We’ve given Summerfest the business about its still evolving 2009 lineup, so it’s only fair that we get properly excited about the legitimately awesome acts The Big Gig is bringing in. This one is probably the best so far: Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson are joining together to headline Marcus Amphitheater July 1. Dylan is pretty hit-or-miss as a live performer, but Nelson always brings it live, and this double bill ought to be a highlight of this year’s festival.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. May 2 through Ticketmaster, and prices aren’t bad at all, ranging from $37 to $59.50. There will also be a limited number of free lawn seats released the day of the show. To get you primed, here is Dylan and Nelson performing Townes Van Zandt’s “Pancho And Lefty.” Man, we’re already high off the contact buzz!
