Darren Cole is documenting Milwaukee's hip-hop scene one video at a time
Just as High Frequency Media has been doing a bang-up job documenting local indie-rock shows lately, Alphabang Productions has been busy doing great work covering area hip-hop gigs. The brains behind Alphabang is Darren Cole—better known as DWooD of the No Request Sound crew—who has been filming local hip-hop for the past two years. He shot and edited highlight reels for last year’s Miltown Beat Down series, and has produced a handful of artist-in-their-element pieces, dubbed the Alpha Sessions, featuring Fresh Cut Collective, Dana Coppafeel, DNA, and Prophetic, among others. Cole also directed the video for Kid Millions’ “Victim to the Beat”, and is now working for artists beyond the Milwaukee city limits, like Miami rapper Rick Ross. Check out more of his work here.
