Each week, we pick four thematically linked Missed Connections from the weekend to compete in a battle of opinion. First prize is a date with the missed connection. Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you’re fired. (We have no power to actually award any of these prizes. Leave your ranking in the comments.)

Is there anything more melancholy/depressing than hanging out at a happenin’ bar, spying an attractive m or w across the room, and saying “hello” days later on the Internet? No, no there’s not. And so we find our theme for this week’s slightly inebriated Missed Connections roundup:

CONTESTANT 1
FRANK’S POWER PLANT - m4w - 36
we shared opposite corners of the bar. you are a beautiful, tattooed, rockabilly goddess...we exchanged looks a few times, i think. i was a bit drunk. i wanted to say hi, but i didn’t. :(

CONTESTANT 2
sabbatic bar - m4w - 25
You said your name was Abby, well I hope to see you again.

CONTESTANT 3
Red and white stripes at hybrid Friday night - m4m - 29
I was at hybrid with friends on Friday night and couldn't keep my eyes off you. You were in red and white stripes and looked great :D not sure if you saw me but say hi if you’re curious cause i think i might just be your prince charming ;) Send a pic so I know it’s you :)

CONTESTANT 4
Red Head Emily from Hotel Foster Thurs 26th - m4w - 25
We met and chatted briefly by the bar and you told me you were studying Journalism. You were there with your friend (Ellie I think?) You also saw me when you were leaving and touched me on the chest. I am sorry I couldn’t talk to you more, but I had to kinda babysit the people I was with (drag). I would love it if you let me know how to get in touch with you though, as I think we could actually hit it off. Here’s hoping.

Who is the most deserving of a callback? Leave your ranking in the comments. (1=date, 2=steak knives, 3=fired, 4=really fired)
