Just Announced Collections Of Colonies Of Bees announce details of new album, live video

It’s been a while since we’ve heard new music from Milwaukee’s Collections Of Colonies Of Bees. True, the Bees have been leading something of a double life as the Justin Vernon-fronted Volcano Choir, (the group’s set at Turner Hall this past March is still a frontrunner for show of the year), but even that band’s last release, Unmap, was way back in the distant past of 2009. Today, however, the band announced that a new album, Giving, is set for release August 2.

This will be the band’s sixth full-length, and its first in three years. It’ll also be short and sweet—according to a press release, the album will feature only four songs, and will come in at a lean 28 minutes. Will those 28 minutes be worth three years of waiting? If the live video for the album’s first track “Lawn” is any indication, three years will have been a small price to pay.
