Daily Agenda July 28: Hayward Williams at Linneman's
A local folkie sits in at the cozy Riverwest venue
Singer-songwriter Hayward Williams is a young Wisconsin standby best heard with a bit of patience. His voice, deeper and huskier than his youth and skinny frame would suggest, slowly uncoils over folk- and blues-rooted tunes with a private and earnest bent. Williams has been touring behind his latest album, 2007’s Another Sailor’s Dream, trying to build on the record’s good reception with Europe’s Americana fans. Luckily, the cozy music room at Linneman’s, where Williams plays tonight, is the best setting for this kind of thing.
