Daily Agenda Sept. 3: Plexi 3

The Milwaukee mod-punks visit Frank's Power Plant tonight

A stylish, mod-inspired punk-rock trio that applies a healthy dose of piss and vinegar to the early-’60s girl-group template, Plexi 3 turns out EPs, 45s, and 7-inches faster than most bands write songs. After making a strong impression with singles like the melodically messy “Calculated Romance” and “Timebox,” Plexi 3 released its debut full-length, Tides Of Change, earlier this year. The album finds the group continuing to refine its songwriting as it moves away from the Raincoats-like sloppiness of its early material to a grubby, Phil Spector-on-a-budget aesthetic. The band plays tonight at Frank's Power Plant.
