The last time we checked in with Milwaukee MC Dana Coppafeel, he was calling us and the rest of the Milwaukee media out for being lazy when it comes to covering hip-hop. So, we made sure to quickly pull ourselves out of bed when we heard about Coppafeel’s new mixtape, Dana Coppa—The Feature, which he made in collaboration with DJ Black Wizard of Hot16Radio.com. The tape features remixes of tracks from 2008 and ’09 done with some of Coppafeel’s partners in crime in Milwaukee hip-hop collective House Of M (including Haz Solo and Dylan Thomas), as well as KingHellBastard.
Nobody will accuse Coppafeel of being lazy. Along with his restless work with two major Milwaukee hip-hop groups, as well as his debut solo record Coppa’s Welfare Foods released earlier this year, Coppafeel is actually giving away two incarnations of The Feature away for free, including a tape featuring the original versions of the songs before they were remixed by Black Wizard. You can get the Black Wizard version here, and the original here.
