Tim Cuprisin over at OnMilwaukee.com reports that local country station WMIL debuted the new single from beloved native son and cougar magnet Danny Gokey this morning. It’s called “It’s Only,” and it’s a predictably earnest ballad about real-life folk we can all relate to strugglin’ with hard times. There’s Bobby, an unemployed guy who “needs a hand-up, not a handout.” There’s a homeless woman with a shopping cart who just needs a place to lay her head (and maybe some Oxycontin). And there just might be a special guest appearance by Jesus at the song’s midpoint. Really, it’s not at all the most clichéd “message” song you’ve ever heard. Check it out!
