Fucked Up at The Borg Ward
The Canadian hardcore band plays the all-ages venue April 7
More Just Announced
With a name like Fucked Up and the reputation that precedes the kind of hardcore band that names itself Fucked Up, nobody who gets a boot to the head at the band’s shows can say he or she wasn’t warned. The Toronto quintet—four dudes and one lady—is known for its insane live shows, which features mountains of volume and singer Damian Abraham throwing his large body into the crowd and, on occasion, smashing beer cans on his head. After spending time on Jade Tree, the band hooked up with Matador to release its second album, The Chemistry Of Common Life, which raised lots of eyebrows last year. (Our sister site The A.V. Club ranked it No. 2 on its list of the best albums of 2008.)
Fortunately, Milwaukeeans will have the opportunity to experience Fucked Up in person when the band comes April 7 to The Borg Ward. Call Me Lightning and Herds will be the support acts for this all ages show, which is slated to start at 8 p.m. and end around the time somebody gets their brains smashed in. (We mean that in the figurative sense, mostly.) Here is an appropriately noisy and shaky video preview of what to expect.
