With Milwaukee currently enjoying day 8,000 of a record-breaking heat wave, the last thing on anyone’s mind is exercise. So why not watch other people get a workout in the new video for AUTOMatic’s “Move”? The local hip-hop duo (A.P.R.I.M.E. and Trellmatic), along with guests Elle Razberry and Jon Frost, work up a virtual sweat in this bouncy, colorful, and constantly moving clip. “Move” is the first single from the upcoming Art Imitates Life record, which is set for a vinyl release on Dope Folks Records this September.
The video was directed by Milwaukee musician/filmmaker Jack Packard, who knows a thing or two marrying “striking” images to local hip-hop. Packard used Logic & Raze’s “High” for last winter’s “Ice Cold Bowling Trick Shots” video, which, let’s be honest, sounds really, really good right now. (The “ice cold” part, not necessarily the “high” part.)
(AUTOMatic opens for Common tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. at Summerfest’s Harley-Davidson Roadhouse.)
