Just Announced Hope Sandoval, Camera Obscura, and Medeski, Martin & Wood

Three shows go on sale at noon Friday

Hope Sandoval

If you’re a fan of sad bastard music, there’s no better time of the year than fall, when pretty, mournful songs synchronize perfectly with the turning of leaves and gradually dying off of nature. So while the thought of listening to Hope Sandoval seems a little off in the final throes of summer, she should be ideal by the time she comes Oct. 4 to Pabst Theater in support of her first album in eight years, Through The Devil Softly. Joining in on the sad bastard soundtrack is Camera Obscura, which will perform Nov. 28 at Turner Hall behind its sparkling 2009 release, My Maudlin Career. Tickets for both shows go on sale at noon Friday.

Anyone need a pick-me-up? Another newly announced show is Medeski, Martin & Wood, which will come to The Rave/Eagles Ballroom Nov. 20. The band released the third part of its Radiolarian series earlier this month. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday.
