Earlier this week, we tried to stave off winter by checking out some Minecraft maps of Miller Park and pretending it was still summer. Alas, it didn’t work. Temperatures failed to rocket past the balmy 50-degree mark, trees continued to slough off their leaves like so much dead skin, and reports indicated Milverine had busted out that turtleneck he always wears in the fall. It’s clear to us now that summer is gone, never to return, and that we’re all going to die alone and heartbroken after blowing our one chance at true, uncomplicated love, and/or moving into a haunted hotel and trying to kill our family and chasing our terrified son through a hedge maze in the middle of the night. Typical.
Oh well, we can still enjoy funny fireplace commercials, right? This doozy comes courtesy of The Fire Place Ltd., a family-owned business with locations in Milwaukee and Waukesha. It’s a few years old, but it’s been making the rounds on TV lately due to plummeting temperatures and a severe shortage of homegrown commercials featuring elderly gentlemen dressed as cavemen and saying “Fire good!” over and over and over and over again. Think of it as Unfrozen Caveman Fireplace Salesmen. Think of it as Captain Pleasantly Toasty Caveman. Just think of anything but winter.
