January 24 was a somber day for most Brewers’ fans, but it was a day that most had been expecting for years. Prince Fielder has officially signed with the Detroit Tigers and his remarkable years as a Brewer are over. One week later that initial pain of him leaving may be gone, but the memories still loom. From his first career home run to his time as a vegetarian to when he did what we all wanted to do and punched Manny Parra, Prince has always been with us. But we cannot live in the past, so to insure that we can all fully let go of our Prince love, here is the video for “Slugger Like You,” set to the tune of Adele’s “Someone Like You” and sung in what could be loosely imagined as Doug Melvin’s voice. Turn up your speakers, grab some tissues, and get lost in the GM’s eyes. Prince may be gone, but he will not soon be forgotten. [Deadspin]
