Martin Short to perform at Pabst Theater January 18
More Just Announced
Martin Short was everywhere in the ’80s, from his standout turn on the acclaimed Canadian sketch-comedy series SCTV and its American cousin, Saturday Night Live, to big celluloid comedies like ¡Three Amigos! and Innerspace to his own Saturday-morning cartoon, The Completely Mental Misadventures Of Ed Grimley. Alas, a series of flops (Pure Luck, Captain Ron, Clifford) greatly diminished Short’s stature as a leading man, and he spent much of the ’90s doing voiceover work, popping up in supporting roles and appearing on Broadway. In the ’90s, Short returned to television as the star of the short-lived sitcom The Martin Short Show, and later as the host of the similarly short-lived talk-show series also known as The Martin Short Show. Though the latter didn’t last long, it did spawn Jiminy Glick, the oblivious, obnoxious celebrity interviewer Short plays in his one-man show.
Short will bring Glick, Grimley, and a host of zany songs and clips to the Pabst Theater Saturday, January 18, 2014. Reserved seating tickets are $50, $75, or $95, and go on sale Tuesday, October 15 at noon.
