Milwaukee media catfight! Fox 6 Storm Team vs. WTMJ 4 Storm Team

The period of relatively mild weather Milwaukee has enjoyed in February is supposed to come to an end later today, which means local TV stations will be inundating us with round-the-clock “stormageddon” coverage reporting on every single Jazzercise class and senior citizen Bible study affected by the snow. WTMJ 4 is Milwaukee’s most notoriously weather-obsessed station, so much so that Fox 6 has taken a couple of pot shots at its competitor in two recent commercial spots, reports Journal Sentinel TV/radio columnist Tim Cuprisin. In the spots, meterologist Vince Condella and anchor Ted Perry oh-so-casually carry on a conversation about how to properly cover the weather, stressing it’s “better to be prepared, not scared.” WTMJ is never mentioned by name, though there are some faux-WTMJ graphics that are quickly brushed aside by our super cool Fox 6 newsmen. Decider is dying to know how WTMJ will respond. Here are some suggestions:

“Why choose? Be prepared AND scared!”

 “We panic, you decide!”

“You could watch Fox 6. You could also watch your children freeze to death! It’s your call, bro!”
