Music Town U.S.A.—a.k.a. Appleton, Wisconsin—was on pins and needles last night for the 2012 WAMI Awards. Would the criminally under-rewarded Bon Iver walk away with 8,000 trophies? What about that girl who was on American Idol? Could Rabid Aardvarks pull off a thrilling upset for Best Cover Band of the Year? Anyone hanging out in Oshkosh later tonight?
Those questions aside, Milwaukee had a strong showing at this year’s awards. The Delta Routine took top honors for Alternative Artist of the Year, and Trapper Schoepp And The Shades’ “I-94” was named Song of the Year. Check out the complete list of winners below—a list that does not include an A.V. Club win for Best Print/Electronic Media (Southeast). We’re keeping an eye on you, Shepherd Express. You too, Wausau City Pages.
