Paper Boat Boutique And Gallery clearance sale starts Friday
Snap up handmade goods at a discount throughout the month
Paper Boat Boutique And Gallery is closing up for good May 31, and the owners need to clear out the inventory before then so they don’t get stuck bringing home 47 adorable, embroidered tea towels. Beginning Friday, all the handcrafted items in the store will be marked down. The discounts get steeper as the month wears on, starting at 10 percent off at the beginning of May and ending at 40 percent markdowns at the end.
Owners Faythe Levine and Kim Kisiolek, who opened Paper Boat in 2005, blame the current crappy economy for the store’s demise. If you’re strapped for cash but still need artist-made baubles, home goods, and accessories, this is your chance to get a great deal. Actually, it’s your last chance, period, to get most of these independently-produced goods in a bricks-and-mortar Milwaukee store. If you’ve never been to Paper Boat, you should at least go have a look-see. Then kick yourself for buying birthday gifts at Target instead of supporting this unique shop.
If you really need another reason to head to the Bay View boutique, Micaela O'Herlihy’s exhibit, Bullies, will be on the walls at Paper Boat right up until closing time as well.
