Jock Itch Paul Ryan compares NFL replacement refs to Obama, which makes about as much sense as last night’s game

Never one to shy away from piggybacking on the dubious claims of others, GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan has weighed in on last night’s “football game” against the noble Green Bay Packers and the nefarious Scab Refs Seattle Seahawks. And of course, Ryan has somehow linked the officiating debacle to President Barack Obama, which makes about as much sense as last night’s game. While speaking at a town hall meeting in Ohio, Ryan had this to say, you guys:

“Did you guys watch that Packers game last night? I mean, give me a break. It is time to get the real refs. And you know what, it reminds me of President Obama and the economy. If you can’t get it right, it’s time to get out. [...] I have to think that these refs work part time for the Obama administration in the budget office. They see the national debt clock staring them in the face, they see a debt crisis and they just ignore and pretend it didn’t even happen. They’re trying to pick the winners and losers and they don’t even do that very well. [...] Unlike the Seattle Seahawks last night, we want to deserve this victory. We want to earn this victory.”

In other political/sports/irony news, noted union backer Gov. Scott Walker took to Twitter and used the hashtag #Returntherealrefs to express his disappointment with last night’s game, causing the entire state of Wisconsin to explode all over again. [via Channel 3000]
