One of the East Side’s best-known restaurants has been destroyed by fire this morning. The Journal Sentinel reports that a blaze broke out at Pizza Man (1800 E. North St., 414-272-1745) at 3:33 a.m., and 150 firefighters were still on the scene battling it more than four hours later. Apparently there were crews responding to the call almost immediately, but the fire quickly spread into a four-alarm blaze. It appears that the building—which also houses CUSH Lounge, Grecian Delight, and Black And White Café—is a total loss. Local arson investigators and federal fire officials are looking into the incident. Here’s video of the fire taken from the JS website.
