Cheap drinks and priceless memories await

We're in the playoffs—"we" meaning this guy plays and we drink beer while watching him.

The NFL playoff schedule gods decided not to smile on Packers fans this weekend, putting our team’s match-up against the Cardinals as the late game at 3:40 p.m. Sunday. Which means that those of you inclined to imbibe while cheering on Aaron Rodgers’ first playoff campaign might have to wrestle with wicked headaches Monday morning. Nevertheless, since the Packers will be stuck on the road this off-season, hitting up a local bar will be your only chance to enjoy the game with other fans. So cowboy up.

One of the biggest and most popular sports bars in town is Fanatics (185 N. Jefferson, 414-220-8336). Along with boasting a plentiful supply of big HD-TVs, the Third Ward tavern will have $5 Bloody Marys and $7 domestic pitchers all day. Speaking of cheap domestic beer and Bloodys, East Side hangout Nomad (1401 E. Brady St., 414-224-8111) will also have $5 BMs along with $2 PBRs, free pizza, and free shots when the Packers score.

Over at BBC (2022 E. North Ave., 414-272-7263), being a Packers fan and drinking cheap—on $6 Miller pitchers and $3 Miller bottles—will also put you in the running for prizes, including a $1,000 Best Buy gift card. If you feel it’s better to give than receive (or at least give before you receive), Walker’s Point watering hole The Bomb Shelter (1517 S. Second St., 414-384-2662) will buy you a free beer if you bring in a non-perishable food item for The Hope House, a transitional living center on the city’s south side.
