Points East Pub no longer doing live music starting next month

The East Side club plans to expand its kitchen into the stage area

For years Points East Pub was one of the more consistent forums for live music on the city’s east side. But the club’s prominence in town has slowly receded as venues in Riverwest and Bay View picked up the slack. Now Points East is officially dropping out of the live music business. According to a post on the bar’s website, Points East owner Mark Rasmussen plans to expand his kitchen into the stage area so he can introduce a larger, more diverse menu and longer dining hours on Friday and Saturday. As of now, Points East’s final live show will be a Frank Zappa tribute Dec. 5.
