According to a sad-but-true Facebook post, the East Side location of Milwaukee’s ever-popular Classic Slice has closed. “Hey all, Classic Slice North Ave. is officially CLOSED FOREVER! We couldn’t officially say it until today so I apologize if you tried to reach us yesterday or today. Thank you to all our friends, family and customers,” reads the post, putting an end to Classic Slice’s brief time on the East Side. (The location opened in January 2011.)
While the sudden closing is sad, it’s not completely unexpected. The North Ave. Classic Slice never seemed to take off like its Bay View big brother, possibly due to its tucked-away, near-invisible location. We’ll have more info on the closing tomorrow, but for now we’ll be heading south to scarf down a Shippee Ahoy in Classic Slice East’s honor.
