Ryan Braun turns down The Bachelor

Decider is already on record with our feelings about Brewers slugger Ryan Braun. The guy is clearly a natural born masher, and we love to watch him out on the diamond, but … there’s just something about him that bugs us. The news that he was offered a gig on The Bachelor kind of explains what exactly that “something” is. (There’s also the fact that he sells horribly ugly T-shirts.) WISN sports anchor Stephanie Sutton reported Braun’s Bachelor offer (which, to his credit, he turned down) last week, but it’s only now been picked up by blogs. (Including the always hilarious Miller Park Drunk, which offers the definitive take here.)

But back to the original WISN post: Sutton seems a little crestfallen over Braun not taking the reality show invitation. (Not a surprise given local TV media’s love of local reality TV stars.) “Braun the Bachelor. Has a nice ring to it, but unfortunately, he said thanks, but no thanks—much to the dismay of female fans in Milwaukee and around the country,” Sutton writes. Really? Are women really dying to see Braun cavorting in hot-tubs with fame-hungry ho-bags on national television? (This is not a rhetorical question. We really want to know.)
