Mike Birbiglia has a slow, purposeful voice that dips between sleepy surfer and deadpan Steven Wright. The Massachusetts-born comedian has been known to expound on bears and his feelings of awkwardness at orgies, though in recent years he’s become more recognized for his sharp, often highly personal communiqués to thousands of people by way of his regular “secret” journal readings on the Bob & Tom Radio Show. Last year, Birbiglia branched into the world of theater with the well-received one-man show Sleepwalk With Me, composed of stories about his real-life sleepwalking disorder. Though the show closed in the fall, Birbiglia will recount parts of it while touring behind his new autobiography Sleepwalk With Me And Other Painfully True Stories.
