That Napoleon Dynamite cartoon thinks Whitefish Bay is “the most boring city in America”
Back in 2004, a nation collectively embraced (and snickered at) a shaggy, low-budget quirk-fest called Napoleon Dynamite. Nearly a decade later, that same nation has been largely indifferent to the film’s less-than-timely animated version, no doubt because laughing at the dumb, ugly kids isn’t all that fun anymore. Remember when Napoleon did that stupid dance? Ha.
Yet one juicy comedic target remains evergreen, even in these more enlightened times: laughing at affluent, improbably named Milwaukee suburbs. Last night’s episode of Napoleon Dynamite did just that, tossing in a seemingly random reference to Whitefish Bay, a.k.a. “the most boring city in America.” You can check out the joke in the clip below, which sadly doesn’t contain a “White-folks Bay” jab and/or Uncle Rico doing something totally sweet or whatever.
