Right now, the city’s drunken college girl population is surely up in arms over the news that Brewers shortstop/resident hunk J.J. Hardy has been traded to the Twins for centerfielder Carlos Gomez. The Journal Sentinel’s Tom Haudricourt speculates the move clears the way for the Crew also dumping the team’s current CFer Mike Cameron, but dealing Hardy away seemed inevitable after the rise of Alcides Escobar and his terrible production in 2009, when he batted .229 with 11 homeruns and 47 RBI.
