The Decemberists at The Riverside Theater
The literary folk rockers return to Miwaukee May 29
More Just Announced
It wasn’t too long ago that it seemed like The Decemberists were everywhere, perhaps most memorably cropping up on The Colbert Report in 2006 during a guitar-solo competition that saw Chris Funk dueling against Peter Frampton (who stepped in for a conveniently injured Colbert). But following the cancellation of most of the dates on last fall’s The Long And Short Of It tour—due to an unexplained illness suffered by an unnamed member—The Decemberists have been pretty quiet. In the interim, Meloy issued a live album and went on a solo tour, and the band has been busy recording a sprawling rock opera record called The Hazards Of Love, which is due March 24.
Now the Decemberists have a chance to make it up to fans disappointed over last year's canceled "Long And Short Of It" dates at the Riverside with a concert May 29. Tickets are $25 and go on sale at noon Feb. 13 through the Pabst and Riverside theater box offices. Or you can just get free tickets from Decider.
