The Get Down will return to Turner Hall for annual New Year’s Eve bash

In case you missed it (ICYMI if you’re nasty), The Get Down—Milwaukee’s premiere monthly funk and soul record spin—just celebrated its 10th anniversary. Hosted by DJs Andy Noble, Brent Goodsell, and Nesh, The Get Down is among the city’s longest running dance parties, and certainly one of the best. In addition to its monthly Mad Planet gig, its annual New Year’s Eve blowout at Turner Hall has become insanely popular over the past few years, putting your rinky-dink NYE house party with crappy champagne and Daft Punk playing through your crappy iPhone speakers to shame.
Happily, The Get Down will return to Turner Hall this year to ring in 2014. Once again, the night will feature a DJ stage set up in the middle of the historic ballroom, a live video projection on stage, free food (veggie- and vegan-friendly, too), and a balloon drop at midnight. Oh, and an entire night’s worth of funk and soul deep-cuts, all spun on glorious 45 RPM vinyl. Two ticket packages are available: a $60 basic package (all-you-can-drink tap beer, retro tall boys, rail drinks, champagne toast, complimentary buffet), and a $75 platinum package (all-you-can-drink tap beer, retro tall boys, call drinks, champagne toast, complimentary buffet). Tickets go on sale Friday, October 18 at noon—get yours now, because this party never fails to sell out.
