The Hotel Foster to celebrate grand opening this Saturday with live music, shabby chic

Rising up from the ashes of Live On North—and shaking off the still-lingering ghost of the sorely missed Globe East—is the stylish, refined Hotel Foster. This Saturday, the new addition to North Avenue will celebrate its grand opening with music from The Wildbirds and Shoot Down The Moon. Since the area is in desperate need of some quality live music, we can only hope that Foster’s stage will become a regular destination for local—and national—bands.

So what is The Hotel Foster? Well, the place will be decked out in ’20s flair and style. And although the oriental rugs and vintage plush couches may be comfy, don’t plan on sleeping there: When the speakeasy-inspired joint isn’t busy existing as a bar in a hotel’s clothing, it’ll be a daytime café, serving up local baked goods, hot coffee, and tea. On weekends, owners Mike “Bear” Kempka, John Revord, and Doug Williams promise a menu of paninis, stews, and light lunch fare.

Doors open at noon for Saturday’s grand opening, and music begins at 7 p.m.
