Newswire The Promise Ring hints at a reunion, maybe

These guys.

It seems as if there was some secret pact made among all the great, departed emo bands to reunite at the same time. Within the last few years, Braid, Cap’n Jazz, The Dismemberment Plan, The Get Up Kids, and Jawbox have all decided to get back together and play at least once. Now, it’s beginning to look like another band could be added to the list. Don’t hold your breath for too long, but how about a tentative welcome back to The Promise Ring?

In a recent interview with Punknews, drummer Dan Didier (also of Maritime) said:

“[T]here has been talk, possibly 2012, to do a get together tour or show. It’s always been on the back burner for a while cause when we did that one reunion show for Flower 15 [at Metro in Chicago in 2005] we were ... it was—we had a great time. There are a lot of things up in the air. There’s really no decisions being made but no one wants to push it forward either because it’s a low priority. There is talk but nothing certain. It may or may not happen.”

That’s still something to get excited about, right?

While nothing is set in stone regarding the seminal Milwaukee band’s return, fans should definitely check out ex-Promise Ringers Didier and Davey Von Bohlen in Maritime, as well as the band’s pretty rad recent album, Human Hearts.
