Last fall, Chicago-based one-man band Netherfriends released Netherfriends Does Nilsson, an album of original songs made entirely of Harry Nilsson samples. Sure, that’s a little convoluted, but it worked, especially on trippy tracks like “Full Of It,” featuring Chicago rapper Show You Suck. The video for “Full Of It,” released just last week, is made up of clips from the animated movie The Point!, which Nilsson famously came up with while tripping balls. It’s a colorful, angular companion to track that’s pretty psychedelic in its own right. In fact, it’s the perfect cut to play for any preschoolers you know, assuming they’re like, totally cool, and not little NARCs.
(The band plays tonight at the Riverwest Public House, along with Milwaukee’s John The Savage.)
