Tonight's Inventory reading at Boswell Book Company postponed
Milwaukee event rescheduled for November 10
Due to a confluence of circumstances, The A.V. Club has been forced to postpone tonight's Inventory reading at Boswell Book Company. Apologies to the store and to any of you who planned to make it out. But don't worry; the reading's been rescheduled, and editors and contributors from The A.V. Club will be at Boswell Books on November 10 at 7 p.m. to discuss this book-length version of our national iteration's weekly feature.
What's the problem, you ask? One is that a whole bunch of The A.V. Club folks in Chicago got the flu immediately after reading there. Those crazy Chicagoans were just gonna ride it out and not make a big deal of it, but apparently Time Out thinks the office bug is newsworthy. To be honest, we here in Milwaukee are a little disappointed we don't get to try out our new designer H1N1 face masks.
The other reason, however, is much sadder: editor Keith Phipp's dad, Henry Phipps, passed away late last week, and that's taking several staffers out of town. Everyone plans to make it Milwaukee on November 10, though. In the meantime, send Keith some kind thoughts, and if your parents are still around, give 'em a hug or a call today.
