Aaron Rodgers is a lot of things: Super Bowl MVP, former buddy of Ryan Braun, lifetime buddy of David Gruber. He’s also an incessant pitchman for State Farm’s “Discount Double Check” program, having appeared in approximately 8,000 commercials for the insurance company to date. The spots have varied from fun to insufferable (we could really do without the fat guy/kid who yells “Hey Rodgers!” at the end), though the newest one is a winner in our playbook.
The commercial features Rodgers sandwiched between some unlikely airplane passengers: none other than George Wendt and Robert Smigel, reprising their long-dormant roles as those “Da Bears” guys (a.k.a. “Bill Swerski’s Superfans”). Watch the ad below, take yourself back the heady days of 1991-era SNL, and try not to have a heart attaaack.
