Trocadero closing Feb. 15 for remodeling

East Side favorite Trocadero Café (1758 N. Water St., 414-272-0205) will close Feb. 15 for a “major renovation” and reopen later this spring, the owners announced today. “We’ve been realizing it's just time to utilize the space better and to give the place the love it really needs,” co-owner Mike Eitel said in a statement. “This little café has seen a massive amount of traffic, multiple changes, and a fair amount of abuse over the last decade. We realized that doing a spring tune up was just not quite enough.” Trocadero will go into its mini-hiatus with a number of Valentine’s Day-themed events, including a fundraiser for the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin on February 11, a weekend-long Valentine’s Menu, and a special “Valentine’s Brunch” on Feb. 14.
