For the several billion people not at Bon Iver’s show at Radio City Music Hall this past Friday, Bowery Presents is granting free access to video of the full set until Wednesday at 9 a.m. And while experiencing Bon Iver on a 15-inch screen may not be the same thing as experiencing Bon Iver in person, the production team does an admirable job of skirting the line between concert document and crowd simulation with a blend of close-up shots of the band and wider shots taken from the audience. It’s a surprisingly progressive gesture considering that access to free music on the Internet has been one of the contributing factors to artists’ increased dependence on ticket sales. Circle of life?
