Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus will seduce you with steamy fishing commercial

In addition to being the latest star in Wisconsin’s never-ending political pajama-jam, Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus is a co-owner of Musky Mike’s Bait & Tackle in Okauchee, Wisconsin. The bait shop provides area fishermen with invaluable services such as reel repair, line spooling, and “soda, snacks, beer, and cigs,” while giving Nickolaus a place to collect her thoughts when she’s not rustling up nearly 15,000 missing votes. But while her recent election-day snafu may prove Nickolaus isn’t terribly tech-savvy (The A.V. Club in Madison delightfully refers to the incident as “Kathy Nickolaus vs. Ctrl-S”), a promo for Musky Mike’s proves she sure knows how to hire the right regional video crew for her commercials.

We’re not sure what’s more delightful: the ominous “they were raised to sacrifice” line; the “snack and a beer” line; or the vaguely porno-esque music playing throughout the entire thing. Is this a commercial for a bait shop or the Sybaris?

Kathy Nickolaus owns Musky Mike’s with her husband Greg, and we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention a newspaper clipping that refers to the couple as “an attractive county clerk” and a “ruggedly handsome process server.” Get a room, and/or ice shanty, you two!
